PERMITTING SERVICES & ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING

Weems Brothers, Inc. offers environmental permitting services to take applicants through each stage of the ever-expanding regulatory requirements, whether at the Federal, State, or local levels.  We specialize in knowing the regulations inside and out so that we can best advocate for our clients’ needs and preferences.  All of our project designs are property and customer specific, and in addition to the attention to detail for the project at hand, we work with you to consider long term project goals to optimize your budget and to get the most out of the permitting effort.

Our permit services align directly with our construction services, and therefore include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Tidal Wetlands (Federal and State)

  • Non-Tidal Wetlands (Federal and State)

  • Buffer Management Plans

  • Building Permits / Zoning Certificates

  • Sediment and Erosion Control

Weems Brothers’ in-house Environmental Planner will work with you throughout the design and permitting phase to explain the process, answer any questions, and help navigate the complex, overlapping, and often competing regulatory framework.  Depending on the scope of work and scale of the project, Weems Brothers’ services may also include a more formalized survey of the site or project area, representation before reviewing agencies or boards, or recommendations for highly-qualified preferred partners that can handle any relating work outside of our personal expertise.

Chris joined Weems Brothers, Inc. in 2013 after moving back to the Eastern Shore where he now lives in Salisbury with his wife and two children.  A graduate of the University of Virginia, he has 10+ years of experience working for engineering firms in Virginia on a wide array of projects from stream restoration and wetland mitigation site design and monitoring to leading the mobile technology program development incorporating GIS data management into various environmental assessment protocols.  Having grown up along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Onancock, Virginia, Chris is happy to assist our customers to achieve their project visions for optimal enjoyment of this wonderful and unique resource.
